Holiday Wishes by Jill Shalvis

♥ ♥ ♥ ½ This was a super quick novella.. almost too quick. It was nice to visit all the other characters of the series, but I would have liked a bit more time to get to know Charlotte. I am looking forward to the next in the series.

It’s Christmastime again in Heartbreaker Bay!

When Sean O’Riley shows up at the Hartford Bed & Breakfast for his older brother’s bachelor weekend, he’s just hoping to make it through the weekend. What he’s not expecting is to come face to face with the woman he lost his virginity to a decade ago—a woman he’s never really forgotten.

The last time Lotti Hartford saw Sean, she told him she loved him while he said nothing. Now, ten years later, she’s just looking for a good time. For once, she wants to be the wild and free one, and Sean – the good time guy – is the perfect candidate.

But as the weekend continues, Sean realizes that after a lifetime of being the hook-up king, he’s ready to find happily-ever-after, and he wants it with Lotti. But will she open her heart to him again? As Christmas sweeps through the little B&B, he can only hope love and magic are in the air.

On the Fence by Kasie West

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ½ I read this in one sitting.  Loved the boy-next-door/brother's friend plot. It's also a story about being proud of who you are, and also being willing to try something different. I really enjoyed it.

The Blurb:

For sixteen-year-old Charlotte Reynolds, aka Charlie, being raised by a single dad and three older brothers has its perks. She can outrun, outscore, and outwit every boy she knows—including her longtime neighbor and honorary fourth brother, Braden. But when it comes to being a girl, Charlie doesn't know the first thing about anything. So when she starts working at chichi boutique to pay off a speeding ticket, she finds herself in a strange new world of makeup, lacy skirts, and BeDazzlers. Even stranger, she's spending time with a boy who has never seen her tear it up in a pickup game.

To cope with the stress of faking her way through this new reality, Charlie seeks late-night refuge in her backyard, talking out her problems with Braden by the fence that separates them. But their Fence Chats can't solve Charlie's biggest problem: she's falling for Braden. Hard. She knows what it means to go for the win, but if spilling her secret means losing him for good, the stakes just got too high.

P.S. I Like You by Kasie West

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ Kasie West is a wonderful Young Adult author, and the premise of anonymous letter writing always appeals to me. This book did not disappoint. I would totally recommend it!

Signed, sealed, delivered…

While spacing out in chemistry class, Lily scribbles some of her favorite song lyrics onto her desk. The next day, she finds that someone has continued the lyrics on the desk and added a message to her. Intrigue!

Soon, Lily and her anonymous pen pal are exchanging full-on letters—sharing secrets, recommending bands, and opening up to each other. Lily realizes she’s kind of falling for this letter writer. Only, who is he? As Lily attempts to unravel the mystery and juggle school, friends, crushes, and her crazy family, she discovers that matters of the heart can’t always be spelled out…

To the Duke, with Love by Amelia Grey

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ½ - I really enjoyed the first book in this series, so I jumped at the chance to read the second. I was not disappointed. I enjoyed the banter between Hawk and Loretta, which started off right away.  The secondary characters were good and I would love to watch Farley grow up a bit more and possibly have a story of his own one day.

Ms. Grey has an easy to read writing style, which I truly enjoy. Her wit is fun and her characters are well developed. I will continue to look for books by her.

** I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review **

The Blurb:

There may be times when a gentleman is desperate to gain a lady’s attention, but a gentleman would never resort to desperate measures to obtain it.

The Only One by Lauren Blakely (Audiobook)

Narrated by: Zachary Webber and Andi Arndt

♥ ♥ ♥ ½ This novella was a sweet second chance type story. I would have liked a little bit more time to get to know the characters, however they had nice chemistry together.

The narrators did a wonderful job.

The Blurb:

From the New York Times bestselling author of THE SEXY ONE comes a romance about fate and second chances

Let’s say there was this guy. And he gave you the most mind-blowing night of sex in your life. And you never saw him again.
Until ten years later.
Now, it turns out he’s the ONLY ONE in all of Manhattan whose restaurant is available the night of my charity’s gala.
The trouble is, he doesn’t recognize me.
This woman I’m working with is so damn alluring. The first time I set eyes on her, I’m captivated and I can’t get her out of my mind. Even if it’s risky to tango with someone I’m working with, she’s a risk I’m willing to take.
The trouble is, she won’t give me the time of day.
But I’m determined to change that.

THE ONLY ONE is a standalone novella following characters first introduced in THE SEXY ONE (Gabriel) and WELL HUNG (Penny).

Grin and Beard It by Penny Reid (Audiobook)

Narrated by: Chris Brinkley, Cielo Camargo

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ Jethro is such a Gentleman. I love his manners and honesty. I felt he was both a challenge and a breath of fresh air for Sienna. Sienna was a wonderful temptation for him and together they had great chemistry.  I enjoyed seeing all the Winston brothers interact together. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

Both narrators did well and suited their characters.

The blurb:

Sienna Diaz is everyone’s favorite “fat” funny lady. The movie studio executives can’t explain it, but her films are out-grossing all the fit and trim headliners and Hollywood’s most beautiful elite. The simple truth is, everyone loves plus-sized Sienna.

But she has a problem, she can’t read maps and her sense of direction is almost as bad as her comedic timing is stellar. Therefore, when Sienna’s latest starring role takes her to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park she finds herself continually lost while trying to navigate the backroads of Green Valley, Tennessee. Much to her consternation, Sienna’s most frequent savior is a ridiculously handsome, charming, and cheeky Park Ranger by the name of Jethro Winston.

Sienna is accustomed to high levels of man-handsome, so it’s not Jethro’s chiseled features or his perfect physique that make Sienna stutter. It’s his southern charm. And gentlemanly manners. And habit of looking at her too long and too often.

Sienna has successfully navigated the labyrinth of Hollywood heart-throbs. But can she traverse the tenuous trails of Tennessee without losing her head? Or worse, her heart?
