Smooth Talking Stranger by Lisa Kleypas (Audio Edition)

Narrated by Emily Durante

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ Jack Travis.. gotta love him! He's a sweet guy who's just waiting for the right girl to start a family with and the minute Ella walks into his life you can tell he's found her! While he's a man who believes in equality, he also believe's that there are just some things men should do. He's was always on her side, always there for her to lean on when she needed and I truly loved that about him.

Ella is a caring woman, who at times jumps to conclusions without thinking there could possibly be any other explanation. Which made me shake my head, but in the end she's dependable and level headed enough to know when she needs to rethink her views.

The attraction between these two was felt right from the start and I enjoyed watching it bloom. I think this was my favourite book in the series. Though I really did love Gage too. Tough call! These Travis men make it hard to decide. The ending of this book was perfect. There is one more book in this series.. Joe's story. I will read that when I get my hands on it.

Emily Durante did a great job with the narration. I thought her male voices were well done and she had a nice southern accent. I would listen to her again.

Here's the blurb:

Jack Travis leads the uncomplicated life of a millionaire Texas playboy.  He makes no commitments, he loves many women, he lives for pleasure.  But no one has ever truly touched his heart or soul.  Until one day, a woman appears on his doorstep with fury on her face and a baby in her arms.  It seems Jack is the father and this woman is the baby’s aunt. The real mother has abandoned the child to her more responsible sister.  And now, Jack is being called upon to take responsibility for the first time in his life.  With delicious romantic tension, characters so real they walk onto the page and into your heart, Lisa Kleypas delivers the kind of novel that makes you laugh, love; cry and cheer.

Blue Eyed Devil by Lisa Kleypas (Audio Edition)

Narrated by Renée Raudman
The Travises #2

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ½ I thought this book was very well written. It brought out a range of emotions in me. What Haven has to go through in the first part of this book is not pleasant,(abuse: verbal and physical) and no one should ever have to experience that, but the author wrote it perfectly making me feel what Haven was feeling.

Hardy is a good guy. I liked that the sparks fly right from the first time they met. I was a little disappointed in Haven when she basically falls back into the same demeaning relationship with her boss instead of just standing up to her right away, and she even knows her boss is treating her this way and why! But for the sake of the story I can let that slide.  Lisa Kleypas is a wonderful storyteller and  I am looking forward to the next books in the series.

The Narration was done by Renée Raudman and I felt she fit Haven’s character perfectly, however as I had just listened to the first book in the series  I liked Jeannie Stith’s version of Hardy in the last book a bit more. Not to say Renée did a bad voice for him… I was just used to the previous one. I do wish Renée’s male character voices were a bit more varied as sometimes it was hard to tell them apart. Her voice was easy to listen to though and I would buy another book she narrated.

Here's the blurb:

MEET THE BLUE-EYED DEVIL - His name is Hardy Cates. He's a self-made millionaire who comes from the wrong side of the tracks. He's made enemies in the rough-and-tumble ride to the top of Houston's oil industry. He's got hot blood in his veins. And vengeance on his mind.

MEET THE HEIRESS - She's Haven Travis. Despite her family's money, she refuses to set out on the path they've chosen for her. But when Haven marries a man her family disapproves of, her life is set on a new and dangerous course. Two years later, Haven comes home, determined to guard her heart. And Hardy Cates, a family enemy, is the last person she needs darkening her door or setting her soul on fire.

WATCH THE SPARKS FLY....Filled with Lisa Kleypas's trademark sensuality, filled with characters you love to hate and men you love to love, Blue-Eyed Devil will hold you captive in its storytelling power as the destiny of two people unfolds with every magical word.

A Dare Without Regret by Wendy S. Marcus

Dare To Love Series: Kindle Worlds Novella

♥ ♥ ♥ ½ I was excited to read Ryan’s story after his appearance in his brother Ren’s book.  Ryan I felt was due for a reality-check from the right woman.  Kiley had good priorities and was just what Ryan needed. There are some great moments that made my heart sigh. I love the twin test - one of my favourite little bits whenever it's used in a book, and I loved how Ryan's family just welcomed Tyler and Kiley in right away!

Sometimes for me this story felt a bit rushed, as if the characters shouldn't know certain things about each other so soon, and a few scenes I would have liked to read a bit more about, but it's gotta be hard to cram all that goodness into a short novella!  Glad to see Ryan got his story! I enjoy this author's writing and will look forward to more of her books!

Here's the blurb:

Ryan Monighan is one of the most popular players on the Miami Thunder Football Team. An all-star running back, he always makes time for his fans. They want a picture? He smiles pretty. An autograph? He’s always got a marker handy. Sex? If she turns him on, then heck yeah! Too bad the only thing sexy, sassy Kiley Ivers wants from him is the one thing he will not do for a fan. And she won’t take ‘no’ for an answer.

Kiley Ivers is barely keeping it together. After losing her family in a tragic car accident, she’s left alone to run the family bakery and care for her thirteen-year-old nephew, Tyler. The sole survivor, he’s stuck in the hospital, depressed and in pain. And Kiley will do anything to get his favorite football player to stop by for a visit to cheer Tyler up. Even go out on a date with him.

When things heat up between them, Kiley is on board with a short fling, as long as Tyler doesn’t find out. She plans to be a respectable guardian for her impressionable young nephew. Unfortunately, nothing in Ryan’s life stays secret for long.

Lured In by Laura Drewry

Fishing For Trouble #2

RELEASE DATE: Sept. 27, 2016

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ 5 HUGE hearts!! Man I loved this book! I did not want to stop reading! And that scene that inspired the cover… whoa! I just…. I can't even.. It was fantastic! Had life not gotten in the way I would have devoured this book in one sitting! Drewry’s writing just swept me away and I felt like I was there watching it all take place… (well that sounds kinda creepy and stalkerish of me, when I put it that way… but you get what I mean!)

I LOVED Finn and Jessie together! Those two are made for each other. In the last book I had thought the same thing and was super stoked when I found out they got their story here! Jessie is just the strong, spunky, lay-it-on-the-line kinda girl Finn needs and I love how patient Finn is with her and I love how he loves her, fully and completely. Friends to lovers.. always a good story!

As I said earlier Drewry’s writing was perfect. This book brought tears to my eyes at one point, I laughed more than once and dreamily sighed a lot. She has fast become one of my favourite authors and I truly cannot wait for the next book she writes! Definitely an auto-buy author for me!

Here's the Blurb:

The O’Donnell brothers continue to cast their lines and find love at the Buoys—their magnificent Pacific Northwest fishing haven—in this alluring romance from the bestselling author of Off the Hook.

Seasick. That’s how Jessie Todd feels when her best friend and boss, Finn O’Donnell, tells her that the Buoys will be featured on a popular fishing program—which just so happens to be hosted by a guy she used to date. She’s still friendly with her ex, but her new feelings for Finn are making things . . . complicated. His life is out on the sea, and though Jessie works at the resort, her paralyzing phobia of water keeps her on land, where she’s safe. To take a shot with Finn, she’ll need to face her fears—and her innermost desires—head-on.

Finn has been nursing a crush on Jess for a long time, so when she suddenly asks for swimming lessons, he dives right in. Holding her shaking hand as she steps into the ocean makes his heart swell—despite the sinking feeling that she’s just doing it to impress that smarmy TV host. Finn doesn’t trust anyone with his bruised and battered heart, but he’ll be forced to lay it all on the line to keep Jess from being the one that got away.

Only You by Denise Grover Swank

♥ ♥ ♥ ½ This was a good straightforward love story. There were some funny situations which gave me a chuckle, a decent hitch that made it a little more difficult for Kevin and Holly to be together and I really liked how the author made it possible for me to like the mother-inlaw.. when ealier in the story I didn't.

I enjoyed the chemistry between Holly and Kevin and found myself looking forward to seeing them together.  I do wish Holly hadn't drifted back and forth between we can be friends.. maybe we can be more..  so often, but it wasn't so much that I was rolling my eyes or anything. The ending was sweet but I wish there had been a bit more passion.

Also.. there was a mention of the house costing him $22,000… that seemed really low..even for a fixer-uper... maybe this was just the down payment? Cause if not, maybe I should move!!! Ha ha!! This was the first book I have read by this author and I found her writing style engaging and easy to read. I would read more from her and I am hoping Tyler gets a story!

Here's the blurb:

Romance isn't an option for Holly Greenwood. With her wedding planner career on the line she needs to stay focused, and that means pleasing her demanding boss, not getting distracted by her mind-alteringly hot neighbor . . .

Ex-Marine Kevin Vandemeer craves normalcy. Instead, he has a broken-down old house in need of a match and some gasoline, a meddling family, and the uncanny ability to attract the world's craziest women. At least that last one he can fix: he and his buddies have made a pact to swear off women, and this includes his sweetly sexy new neighbor.

After one hot night that looks a whole lot like a disaster in the light of day, Kevin and Holly are about to learn that true love doesn't play by the rules . . .

Repressed by Elisabeth Naughton

Deadly Secrets #1

RELEASE DATE: July 26th, 2016

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ½   This book was full of suspense with a nice helping of romance on the side. Samantha and Ethan were both great characters and I enjoyed their immediate attraction. The sparks between them kept up throughout the book nicely. I have to give Samantha props for all she handled in this story. She had a great head on her shoulders and a fantastic gut instinct. Ethan was an honest, reliable guy. He truly felt genuine to me, and I have to say, it's not often I get that feeling from characters.

While the romance wasn't the main plot point (as it is in most of the books I read.) I found the intrigue and of course Naughton’s fantastic writing, kept me reading. I had a few guesses at who and what might happen, but was still left wondering enough to keep the story fresh. I did have one question at the end however. Don’t worry there is no cliffhanger, it was just something I wish was answered, but who knows, perhaps that will be a nice detail for the next book! - Which of course, as always, I can’t wait to read!!

*I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review*

The Blurb:

Hidden Falls is exactly as Samantha Parker left it—small, insular, and prone to gossip. Eighteen years have passed since she witnessed her brother’s murder, but she’s still the talk of the town. Until a handsome child psychologist with haunting memories of his own arrives.

Dr. Ethan McClane isn’t exactly a newcomer. If it weren’t for his latest case, he’d never set foot back in Hidden Falls. Thankfully, no one seems to recognize him as the troubled teen from years past. Not even Sam, the delightfully sharp and sexy high school chemistry teacher he can’t stop thinking about.

When Sam and Ethan work together to help one of her students, sparks ignite. But Sam’s hazy memories of a long-ago night concern Ethan, and unlocking the repressed images reveals a dark connection between them. As the horrors of the past finally come to light, their relationship isn’t the only thing in danger. A killer will strike again to keep an ugly secret hidden, and this time no one will be safe.

Sugar Daddy by Lisa Kleypas (Audio Edition)

Narrated by Jeannie Stith
The Travises #1

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ 1/2 I really enjoyed this book. Had life not gotten in the way so much, I would have finished it sooner!  I did not read the synopsis before starting this book, so I didn't have any real expectations, other than a few good reviews (which I only glance at as I hate spoilers.)

In the beginning I had started to wonder if it was a YA novel, as by chapter 5 the leads were still sophomores in high school. Liberty was a strong leading lady. Her persistence and caring for her sister were admirable.

I thought Hardy and Liberty together were great, and as things started to happen and change in the story, I kept waiting for him to show up in the book more. Until Gage entered the picture that is. The chemistry between these two… whoa! It was awesome. Then Hardy shows up. Oy! Talk about a hard decision!

While I wish there was a bit more romance in this story, what was there was well written. Most of the book is spent reliving Liberty's story (from her point of view), and all the trials and such that comes along with being a guardian of a young child, at a young age, while not having access to a lot of money. Don't misunderstand, this is not a bad thing. It kept me listening and I never found myself feeling bored. I will definitely read the next book the series.

Jeannie Stith did a good job with the narration, her southern accents were great and brought me into Texas. I would listen to a book she read again.

The Blurb:

Lisa Kleypas has enthralled millions of readers with her powerfully seductive novels. Now she delivers a story featuring her most unforgettable characters yet...

Liberty Jones has dreams and determination that will take her far away from Welcome, Texas—if she can keep her wild heart from ruling her mind. Hardy Cates sees Liberty as completely off-limits. His own ambitions are bigger than Welcome, and Liberty Jones is a complication he doesn't need. But something magical and potent draws them to each other, in a dangerous attraction that is stronger than both of them.
When Hardy leaves town to pursue his plans, Liberty finds herself alone with a young sister to raise. Soon Liberty finds herself under the spell of a billionaire tycoon—a Sugar Daddy, one might say. But the relationship goes deeper than people think, and Liberty begins to discover secrets about her own family's past.
Two men. One woman. A choice that can make her or break her. A woman you'll root for every step of the way. A love story you'll never forget.
