Coming Soon!! All I Need Is You by Wendy S. Marcus

Perfect for fans of Kristan Higgins and Robyn Carr, this sexy yet sweet military romance reunites a headstrong dancer and a rugged army soldier after one steamy encounter tears them apart.

As a dancer who creates mesmerizing visions onstage, Neve James is looking for the same kind of stability in her love life. Her pen pal, Rory McRoy, is on leave from deployment in Afghanistan, so she heads to Boston to surprise him. After corresponding for months as part of a “Support Our Troops” initiative—and exchanging dozens of “Read When You’re Alone” letters—Neve knows what Rory likes, and she intends to fulfill his every fantasy. But all they get are a few blissful moments together before they’re interrupted by a woman claiming to be Rory’s fiancĂ©e.

Rory has fallen hard for Neve’s letters. When he finally meets her in person, he has to have her, right then and there—until Neve takes off in a fit of anger. Forced to return to Afghanistan before he can fix things between them, Rory waits four agonizing months to prove that he’s not the man Neve thinks he is. But by the time he arrives in New York, she’s already made up her mind. Luckily, Rory never backs down from a challenge, and he’s prepared to put everything on the line for love.

Rising Storm - Episode 2: White Lightning by Lexi Blake

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥  Like any good show, there's always the bad guys, the guys you love to hate. This book was, for me, written mostly around those characters, and Lexi Blake wrote those characters well.  In the first book/episode so much happened. Lots of events, introductions to the people of Storm Texas and a few secrets and shocking moments were revealed. In this episode - which is the second, it felt a little slower paced as more time was focused on character development. That was not a bad thing of course. I still got to read about a few of my favourite characters Yes, Dillon Murphy is one of them. As well as watch more of the other story lines unfold a little bit more.

I was unsure how these books would play out.  At first I thought perhaps after the first book of introductions, each episode/book would deal with their own characters, and their story allowing the other characters to visit throughout it - for lack of a better term. However, this is not the case. Blake just continued where Kenner left off. I find this a very unique and interesting writing situation.  I am looking forward to the third book. I am excited to see how things play out. I love the idea of a different author writing a continuation of a story each time. It's kind of like the story game I used to play when I was a kid.. and now play with my children, where I start with an event, and the next person adds to that storyline, etc and so on. It's just even better with these wonderful authors doing it!

The only heaitation I have, and I am trying not to give spoilers here...  There are a a few plots lines in this story that I can see them using as pure shock value type drama, in keeping with the soap opera theme. This is probably just the hopeless romantic in me.. but I really hope to see them not do that all the time. I am good with drama and twists and turns, and I understand thats what these authors are specifically trying to create and they are doing a great job. But I read romance for a reason.. I like my "Happily Ever Afters". On another note, the lovely authors of this series have also decided to make a Family Tree! This will come in handy for sure in keeping all the people straight in this little town. I reccommend you read the first book in this series "Tempest Rising by Julie Kenner" before this book as this is just a continuation of the first. This series is to be one long "show" if you will.

Rising Storm - Episode 1: Tempest Rising by Julie Kenner

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥  I had the chance to be a part of the review crew for a new series called Rising Storm.  I am so excited that I was accepted! This is to be a series of 8 books - novellas - that will be release week by week and each "episode" is written by a different author. All the characters interchange within each book, so it feels like a soap opera. I just finished the first installment in the series Tempest Rising

It was well written, considering Ms. Kenner had to set up the whole small town scene, characters and back stories etc.. Never once did I feel like I was getting bogged down the by details that had to be shared so I could follow all the story lines. The writing flowed wonderfully. I am already invested and have picked out a few characters to be my favourites.

I am looking forward to all the twists and turns this kind of storyline brings. I am happy to say I gasped more than once while reading this book. I can't wait to see what the next episode brings!  If you like a series that take place in a small town, and lots of secrets, sex and scandals.. this is a series is for you!!

On a side note: I haven't read anything by Julie Kenner before, but I am surely going to look up her back list! If all the writing in this series is as good as this book, I will have seven new-to-me authors! Gotta love that bonus!

How To Treat A Lady by Karen Hawkins

★★★★ I was excited to get back to this series and read how the tailsman ring was going to thwart yet another of the St. John men. Chase was stuck with it at the end of the last book, and I think his story was pretty good. He learns and grows a lot in this book which was good for him. Harriet was a strong lead and I truly enjoyed the banter between them. I would love to read more about her family. Wonder if Hawkins ever wrote any of their stories?..  Anyway, I thought this was a good addition to the series. I am looking forward to Marcus' story.. though his is not up next... it looks like Devon's bachelor life is going to be taken down by a Scottish woman! Should be interesting!
