How to Catch a Wild Viscount by Tessa Dare

★★★★ I quite enjoyed this quick novella by Tessa Dare. Luke was the strong, silent man Cecily has loved forever. He was a wonderful broody hero.

Cecily knew what she wanted and went after it. I loved this about her. All in all, I really wish this was a longer book, so that I could spend more time with these characters.

Here's the blurb:

Luke Trenton, Viscount Merritt, returned from war a changed man. Battle stripped away his civility and brought out his inner beast. There is no charm or tenderness in him now; only dark passions and a hardened soul. He has nothing to offer the starry-eyed, innocent girl who pledged her heart to him four years ago.

But Cecily Hale isn't a girl any longer. She's grown into a woman--one who won't be pushed away. She and Luke are guests at a house party when a local legend captures their friends' imaginations. While the others plunge into the forest on a wild, stag chase, Cecily's on the hunt for a man. She has only a few moonlit nights to reach the real Luke...the wounded heart she knows still beats inside the war-ravaged body...or she could lose him to the darkness forever.

This is a novella of approximately 20,000 words, or 80 pages. It was originally published under the title The Legend of the Werestag.

His Love by Jennifer Gracen

★★★★ 4.5 Stars

This feel good book made me smile, and with a charming, hunky Irishman just visiting for the summer....  how could it not!

Gavin was such a sweetheart.  He knew himself well and his easy smile just won me over.  Toni was a fun girl and they meshed well together. I really liked how even though she seemed indecisive or a bit flaky at times.. she really sat down and figured out what went wrong.  Too often in books I find the characters take too long to realize a miscommunication, which just begins to annoy me... This author did not do that and I am really glad!

This was the first time I have read a book by Jennifer Gracen, and it won't  be the last. I plan on going to her back list and seeing if Sean (Gavin's yummy brother) has a story!

** I received a copy of this book in exchange for a honest review **

Here's the blurb:

Toni Westmore doesn’t do relationships. She has a demanding boss at her high end Soho art gallery job and an even more difficult and critical mother – who needs the mess of a relationship?

Enter Irish Doctor Gavin McKinnon, her friend’s brother, also known as the perfect summer fling: tall, muscled, smart, funny, definitely ready for a good time and stamped with an expiration date. He’ll go back to Ireland and his family medical practice in a few weeks and she’ll return to her real world and plan her next career move.

Gavin’s in town not only to visit his sister, but to try and heal his broken heart. He gets a little help when Toni, his sister’s friend and roommate, enters the picture. Inexplicably drawn to her, Gavin tries to remind himself to look but not touch, but Toni is hard to resist… and when she offers him a no strings fling, how could he say no?

But as Gavin’s departure date looms, Toni realizes that her sexy summer fling is anything but. And she was sure she could kiss Gavin goodbye with no regrets…

Will she attempt to break their no strings rule? Or will Gavin leave Long Island without looking back?

Wild Flame by Donna Grant

★★★★  I LOVE these Chiassons! Christian has always intrigued me... but then I do love to watch a confirmed bachelor fall hard. Ivy was a wonderful match for him.
This novella was a quick read for me. The action right from the beginning kept me hooked till the end. I wish it had been longer as there is elements of this story that Grant only just touched on. I hope they show up in future stories. This author creates wonderful worlds and I just can't get enough.

I truly can not wait for Riley's story!

Here's the Blurb:

Ivy Pierce has had a harder life than most. She suffered tragedy at a young age then spent the next eleven years in and out of hospitals fighting an illness doctors couldn’t identify while watching her mother make sacrifices to take care of her. When Ivy finally gets better, she resigns herself to the fact that she can either have health or love, always afraid that the illness will return. Ivy never wants to burden anyone again, so she makes sure to keep everyone at arm's length. That is until Fate intervenes and puts her on a collision course with a gorgeous, charismatic Hunter who makes her blood burn and her heart skip a beat whenever he's near. Her biggest battle, however, may be learning that she’s worth saving.

Christian Chiasson dreamed of finding his soul mate - until the night his parents died. His father's bellow of grief that reverberated through the bayou has haunted Christian ever since. To keep his heart safe, Christian is content to let his brothers find romance and continue the family line. Although when Christian crosses paths with a beautiful and brave woman being hunted by minions of the Demon of Souls, he’s drawn to her in a way that cannot be explained. He suddenly finds that he would walk through the fires of Hell if it means she could live. Now that he’s found her, Christian can't imagine life without her.

Moon Thrall by Donna Grant

★★★  This is the second installment in the LaRue series, and the 5th in the whole Chiasson/LaRue lot. I enjoy both families and how Grant has intertwined them. I thought Court and Skye were alright characters, however, I didn't feel their chemistry together as much as I have with the leads in other books in this series. I am still looking forward to Riley's story and enjoyed her part in this book.

All these book so far are novellas.. and this one felt a bit rushed to me.  I have the next book lined up here on my kindle and I look forward to reading it soon.

Here's the Blurb:

Skye Parrish is living her dream. As a reporter, seeing her name in print is always a thrill, and being able to tell the world about the dangers of the supernatural is an added bonus. Unfortunately, her investigation into the mystical factions of New Orleans has landed her squarely in the sights of some of the city’s most dangerous creatures. In order to survive, she must place her trust in one of the groups she was looking to expose. But her unlikely alliance could lead to something far more perilous - the loss of her heart to the hunky and captivating Court LaRue.

As the youngest member of a family of werewolves tasked with keeping the peace in New Orleans, Court doesn't carry the weight of the past like his brothers. When the vampire faction begins breaking the rules the LaRues are sworn to uphold, Court takes the lead on the investigation and finds himself faced with a threat even bigger than the vamps – a feisty and fearless woman who holds him utterly in thrall and makes him look to the future. But there will be no forever for them if they can’t survive the present.
