Lethal Consequences by Elisabeth Naughton

★★★★★ OH WOW!! I have been looking forward to this story since I met Landon in the first Aegis book! This book was fantastic! Action, Suspense, Romance, even humour! It's all in here!  Landon is still one of my favourite leading men! He stole the show in the last book and didn't disappoint in this one!  And Olivia! She was a pretty kick-ass match! Loved her! I would highly recommend this book!  Now, only if Marley and Jake get a story soon! That would be awesome!

Here's the blurb:

Three months after rescuing Olivia Wolfe from danger, Aegis Security operative Landon Miller still can’t stop thinking about her, even though she’s off-limits in every way possible. Knowing he’s leaving Aegis and returning to the DIA soon, Landon decides it’s time for their flirty online relationship to end. But Olivia can’t stop thinking about Landon, either. On a whim, she takes a leave of absence from her teaching job to surprise him in Barcelona—and arrives to find a sexy redhead in his hotel room.

Things aren’t always what they seem, though. Landon’s would-be one-night stand is really a member of the Red Brotherhood, a terrorist group targeting Landon for information on a lethal bioweapon. And now Olivia is unwittingly ensnared in their deadly plot, too. Forget escaping emotionally unscathed; Olivia just wants to make it home alive. Yet to survive, she’ll have to put her trust in the very man who not only broke her heart, but whose lies now threaten both their lives.

In the second book in bestselling author Elisabeth Naughton’s popular Aegis series, heart-pounding suspense stirs up deliciously sizzling romance.

Confessions of a Scoundrel by Karen Hawkins

★★★★ This is the second in the Tailsman Ring series, and I still enjoy watching the brother get stuck with the ring. Brandon and Verena were good leads, and I loved her quirky butler, Herberts! As always with this author there was great banter and some laugh aloud parts. I am looking forward to reading the third book.

Here's the blurb:

Legend says that whomever possesses the St. John talisman ring will find their one true love. Now that the ring rests in the pocket of renowned scoundrel Brandon St. John, the dashing rake must decide whether it is a blessing…or a curse.

Never has the irresistible rogue, Brandon St. John, pursued a woman with more fervor—but his ardent suit of Lady Verena Westforth has a different purpose. The delectable blond lovely is indeed enticing, but Brandon suspects her of hiding a valuable missive that he has sworn to recover. With a sensuous kiss and a passionate caress he intends to lower Verena’s guard…and then discover where she’s hidden “the goods.”

Without the missive, Verena stands to lose the one thing dearest to her heart. And now an extraordinary man has entered her life…at the worst possible time! Vulnerable though she may be, Verena vows she will not be just another of Brandon’s “conquests,” even as she aches to melt in his arms. But is he a needed friend or a foe in alluring disguise…and will she be able to prove to him that love is their true destiny?

New Book by Laura Drewry!

I just found out that Laura Drewry has finished her third book in the "Friends First" series.
Accidentally In Love is Ellie's story, and is due out June 16, 2015.

The first two books (Plain Jayne and Prima Donna) were both fantastic reads. The connection between the characters was wonderful and her humour is great! I couldn't put them down. It will seem like long wait till I get to read this one!  For those of you who have read these books, Maya's story is up next! And for those of you who haven't.... uh why not??

An Affair To Remember by Karen Hawkins

★★★★★  The first book in the "Tailsman Ring" series. I loved the premise of "whoever has the ring falls in love" plot. It's great!  I am a fan of Hawkins already, and have mostly read her newer stuff.. so I am now making my way through her backlist.  This book was fun. Great humour, chemistry, and some wonderfully stubborn lead characters which made for fiery confrontations.  As I haven't read this series before.. I am already hoping she has written or plans to write, a story for the eldest child Desford. I enjoyed his character and think he'd make a strong Lead. I am looking forward to the rest of the series.

Here's the blurb:

“The men of the St. John family are outrageously handsome and possess far too much wealth. It is enough to make one ill.”
Saddled with five unruly orphans, the Earl of Greyley, Anthony Elliot, is at his wits’ end. Unfortunately, the only person willing to deal with the adorable little terrors is Anna Thraxton, governess extraordinaire – and the one woman Anthony can’t abide. She’s too outspoken, too opinionated, and far too beautiful for his peace of mind. A woman should be meek and mild – words that perfectly describe his prospective bride, not the flame-haired temptress who haunts his dreams.
Anna knew this job would be trouble the moment she set foot in the door – but it’s Anthony who’s the problem, not the children! He’s too arrogant, too sure of himself, and far, far too wonderfully big and masculine. The young girl he’s courting will never be able to handle him, so someone clearly needs to teach Anthony a few things about women. But when lectures turn to kisses, igniting a passion they can’t ignore, how will they resolve the battle between honor and their hearts?

The Bride Says No by Cathy Maxwell

★★ I had high hopes for this book. The plot sounded like it had some great potential. Sadly there was too much of the characters thinking and observing their surroundings and not enough talking to each other for me. Also, The amount the Heroine and Hero were actually together on the page wasn't often enough for me to get to feel their chemistry. The story shifted more about Tara (the Heroine's sister) than I would have liked.  As well as other secondary characters more so than the leads at some points.  I read till 70% and lightly skimmed the rest.

This is a newer author to me, so I don't have a lot to compare of hers.  The next book in the series also sounds interesting.. as per the lead up to it at the end of this book. I may give her another shot.. perhaps this was just the first book, laying the foundation for the series.. as there was too much happening, I thought, that took away from the lead characters story.

Here's the Blurb:

What happens when a bride says no?
He is the bastard son of a duke, arrogant, handsome, a little bit dangerous, and, of course, one of the most sought-after bachelors in London. He is also about to be publically jilted by some chit of a girl! Blake Stephens’ pride isn’t about to let him be humiliated, so he charges after his bride to the wilds of Scotland, determined to bring her to the altar.
What happens when the heart says yes?
He is promised to one woman, but discovers his soul stirred by . . . the chit’s sister! Lady Aileen Davidson’s reputation was ruined ages ago, which is why she’s buried herself in the country, but her fiery spirit and bold beauty threaten to bring Blake to his knees, making him wonder if he has proposed to the wrong lass.

One in a Million by Jill Shalvis

★★★★ Sounds like this may be the last book of the Lucky Harbor series. If so I will miss this nice little town! Lucille the most I think.. she's a great character throughout all the books. Tanner and Callie... what can I say.  I enjoyed their story. I thought Tanner made a great father. Callie, she was a bit to hard on herself, unwilling to risk or even admit to risk.. but able to live in the moment. They made a good couple. I was worried there was going to be no epilogue.. like the last book.. but I was pleasantly surprised with one and enjoyed it! If this is indeed the last book of the series. It ended well!

Here's the Blurb:

As the brains behind wedding site, Callie sees it all: from the ring to the dress, the smiles . . . to the tears. It's that last part that keeps her single and not looking. Getting left at the altar will do that to a girl. But when Callie returns to her old hometown, she finds that her sweet high school crush is sexier than ever. And he makes it hard to remember why she's sworn off love . . .

Tanner is a deep-sea diver with a wild, adrenaline-junkie past—and now his teenage son is back in his life. How can Tanner be a role model when he's still paying for his own mistakes? It's hard enough that gorgeous Callie has appeared in town like a beautiful dream, challenging his best-laid plans to keep his heart on lockdown. Though there's something about being around her again that makes him feel like he can be the man she—and his son—deserve. Little Lucky Harbor holds their past; can it hold a beautiful new future?
