He's So Fine by Jill Shalvis

★★★★  I was looking forward to reading about Cole and his many pockets of stuff! And he didn't disappoint. He was a straightforward honest guy, which is one of the best kinds.. in my opinion. Olivia had a lot of secrets.. or just one big one.. however you want to look at it. They worked well as a pair, however I felt their meeting felt a bit too contrived but as that happened so early on.. the rest of the story didn't suffer for that. I did find the ending was kind of abrupt. Perhaps it was just me.. but I was expecting an epilogue or something.. but nope. I guess I just wanted to read about Cole and Olivia longer! I think this is a great series and I am looking forward to Tanner's story.

Here's The Blurb:

For Olivia Bentley, Lucky Harbor is more than the town where she runs her new vintage shop. It's the place where folks are friendly to strangers-and nobody knows her real name. Olivia does a good job of keeping her past buried, not getting too cozy with anyone . . . until she sees a man drowning. Suddenly she's rushing into the surf, getting up close and personal with the hottest guy she's ever laid hands on.

Charter boat captain Cole Donovan has no problem with a gorgeous woman throwing her arms around his neck in an effort to "save" him. In fact, he'd like to spend a lot more time skin-to-skin with Olivia. He's just not expecting that real trouble is about to come her way. Will it bring her deeper into Cole's heart, or will it be the end of Olivia's days in little Lucky Harbor?

It's In His Kiss by Jill Shalvis

★★★★ 4.5 Stars

I loved going back to visit Lucky Harbor (this is book #10 in the series) I remember glimpses of Sam from Ben's book.. and I was happy to read his story. It started a bit quick for me- as in the character's seemed too close for just meeting, but I could over look it, as they worked so well together... Sam was definitely the "Sexy Grumpy Surfer" that Becca dubs him right off in the book. I enjoyed his surliness. Becca was a strong New girl to town. She was a great match for Sam.  I did take away half a star as I didn't like how Sam wouldn't stop enabling his father.. and it kinda got tiresome for me to watch. And then Becca to kinda do the same..  just my opinion there..  I am looking forward to the next in this series... can't wait to read about Cole!

Here's The Blurb:

Becca Thorpe has uprooted her life and escaped to the beach. Now's her chance to get away from city living, throw caution to the ocean winds, and live in the moment. Especially if the moment includes the deliciously sexy surfer she meets shortly after arriving in Lucky Harbor. Something about the dark intensity of Sam's eyes and the thrill she gets at his touch convinces her to stay awhile.

Boatbuilder and investment genius Sam Brody is a self-made man who knows how dangerous it can be to mix business and pleasure. But he can't resist offering Becca a job just to hear her laugh and have her near. Yet when her brother comes to town asking for help, will he tempt her back to her glamorous life in the city? Or do Sam and little Lucky Harbor have a chance to win Becca's heart?

Prima Donna by Laura Drewry

★★★★★ I had this book in my TBR pile for a bit. For whatever reason just didn't read it.. perhaps I thought it wasn't going to be as good as her last one (same series)... boy was I wrong! I LOVED this book! Carter is one of my favourite leading men. I loved his jokes and pick -up lines, loved his little habit of rubbing his ear and loved the way he was with Regan. Regan was also a great character. She'd been dealt a crappy hand but it made her who she was and I was falling in love with the two of them right from the beginning of this book!

I have enjoyed all of Laura Drewry's books, but these last two (Plain Jayne and Prima Donna) are just soooo good! If you haven't read this author. I think you should!!

Here's the Blurb:

In a witty, sizzling, and tender romance for readers of Jill Shalvis and Susan Mallery, a woman who can’t slow down discovers that the perfect guy is in hot pursuit.
Even when her hair salon goes under and she’s on the brink of breaking, Regan Burke keeps her “I’m just fine” attitude. She’s had a tough life, coping with a difficult family and keeping her act together . . . barely. Right now, she just needs a job, any job, so she can pay her mother’s medical bills. It’s the exact wrong time for Carter Scott to come into her life—and to be so damn sexy, so distracting, and so determined to get close.
Carter isn’t looking for anything serious—his heart belongs to the kids who depend on his pediatric practice—but something about Regan makes him reconsider. Maybe it’s the scars she hides so well, the secrets she can’t share. Carter knows all about that kind of pain, and he wants to help. But offering Regan a job in his office only makes things worse, even if their chemistry is off the charts. Lucky for them both, Carter isn’t about to let go of love without a fight.

COMING SOON! The Secrets of Richard Kenworthy (Smythe-Smith Quartet Book 4) Release Date: JANUARY 27, 2015

Looks like January is going to be a FANTASTIC month for reading! Here is another book I am looking forward to. I have enjoyed the other 3 books in the Smythe-Smith series.

Here's the Blurb:

Sir Richard Kenworthy has less than a month to find a bride. He knows he can't be too picky, but when he sees Iris Smythe-Smith hiding behind her cello at her family's infamous musicale, he thinks he might have struck gold. She's the type of girl you don't notice until the second—or third—look, but there's something about her, something simmering under the surface, and he knows she's the one.

Iris Smythe–Smith is used to being underestimated. With her pale hair and quiet, sly wit she tends to blend into the background, and she likes it that way. So when Richard Kenworthy demands an introduction, she is suspicious. He flirts, he charms, he gives every impression of a man falling in love, but she can't quite believe it's all true. When his proposal of marriage turns into a compromising position that forces the issue, she can't help thinking that he's hiding something . . . even as her heart tells her to say yes.

COMING SOON! Lethal Consquences (Aegis Security book 2) Release Date: January 20, 2015

I have been waiting for Landon Miller's story since I read the first Aegis Security novella! What's even better! It's a full length book! LETHAL CONSEQUENCES by Elisabeth Naughton comes out Jan 20, 2015!!

Here's the Blurb:

Three months after rescuing Olivia Wolfe from danger, Aegis Security operative Landon Miller still can’t stop thinking about her, even though she’s off-limits in every way possible. Knowing he’s leaving Aegis and returning to the DIA soon, Landon decides it’s time for their flirty online relationship to end. But Olivia can’t stop thinking about Landon, either. On a whim, she takes a leave of absence from her teaching job to surprise him in Barcelona—and arrives to find a sexy redhead in his hotel room.

Things aren’t always what they seem, though. Landon’s would-be one-night stand is really a member of the Red Brotherhood, a terrorist group targeting Landon for information on a lethal bioweapon. And now Olivia is unwittingly ensnared in their deadly plot, too. Forget escaping emotionally unscathed; Olivia just wants to make it home alive. Yet to survive, she’ll have to put her trust in the very man who not only broke her heart, but whose lies now threaten both their lives.

In the second book in bestselling author Elisabeth Naughton’s popular Aegis series, heart-pounding suspense stirs up deliciously sizzling romance.

How to Entice an Enchantress by Karen Hawkins

★★★★  This was a lovely story showing that Love doesn't always have to be romantic. Kirk is a determined hero, who knew what he wanted.. though not always the way to get it. Dahlia is a young romantic who is protective of Kirk. They are a great match together. I enjoyed reading this story and watching their love grow. This is the third book in "The Duchess Diaries". I would recommend this series.

Here's the Blurb:

The third sizzling novel in New York Times bestselling author Karen Hawkins’s Duchess Diaries series, featuring three unruly sisters and their headstrong godmother with a penchant for matchmaking.

Reclusive Viscount Kirk, horribly scarred by a tragic accident that stole the life of his beloved first wife, is a man defined by fury. For years he’s eschewed society, growing abrupt and curmudgeonly. But now, when he’d given up on life, he’s fallen madly in love with the refreshingly naive daughter of his neighbor, dainty and charming Dahlia Balfour. Desperate to win her attention, Kirk calls in a favor from the Duchess of Roxburghe and asks that she transform him into a fashionable suitor for Dahlia’s hand. But what’s easy to change on the outside, isn’t as easy to change on the inside…

Dahlia’s always dreamed of a fairytale romance. Although Viscount Kirk is only seven years her senior, because of his cantankerous ways and lack of social graces she thinks of him as her “older neighbor,” and is blissfully unaware that he sees her as anything other than an acquaintance. She is shocked to see him at the duchess’s grand house party, trying to fit with the very societal rules he so frequently mocks. Surprised by his attention, irritated at his bald honesty, and intrigued that he finds her worth the effort, Dahlia regards Kirk as the opposite of Prince Charming. Without the pretty words and grand gestures she yearns for, can true love find its way into her unwilling heart?

Loving You Is Easy by Wendy S. Marcus

★★★★ This is the first book I read by this author. Brooke and Shane were a good match together, I felt their relationship was honest and leaned more on the real side.. not so fairy-tale-ish. Brooke has some spunk to her and I loved it when she finally used it!

The wounded hero, plot isn't my favourite. That said, I enjoyed Shane's character and how he was honest with himself on his feelings toward Brooke and how when he wasn't having a pity party, his caring/fun side came through.

I really loved the letters written between the two lead characters.. I wished there was more of them. I also enjoyed the Neve, Brooke's best friend and hope she will be getting her own story. I will look for more from this author. I find her writing style allows me to easily get lost in the story.

Here's the Blurb:

She’s a survivor of the front lines of politics. He’s a wounded soldier returning home from the battlefield. Can they place their trust in the power of love?
Nobody plays the role of perfect politician’s daughter better than quiet, respectable math teacher Brooke Ellstein. But she won’t be caught swimming with the sharks again, not after the son of a wealthy donor sinks his teeth into her and gets away with it. Still, political connections have their perks, such as heading up the governor’s “Support Our Troops” pen-pal initiative—and getting first dibs on the smoking-hot sergeant whose picture shakes her right down to her goody-two-shoes.
When corresponding with sweet, classy Brooke, Shane Develen instinctively hides his commando tattoos and blue-collar roots—and he can tell that she’s hiding something, too. But Shane knows he’s gained her trust when Brooke gives him a blisteringly sexy photo. Then he’s injured in an ambush and a fellow soldier posts the snapshot online. Overnight, Brooke’s reputation turns to ashes. Even though he’s totally wrong for her, Shane shows up on Brooke’s doorstep, determined to set things right—and discovers that right or wrong has nothing on the chemistry they share.

Moon Kissed by Donna Grant

★★★★★ This is the 4th book in the Chiasson/LaRue series but the first in just the LaRue series. These stories, I always find a wee bit too short as they are only novellas. However I couldn't put it down! I loved the attraction and Chemistry between Myles and Addison. There was action, passion and though I have not read many werewolf books.. I will be adding them to my list! I am looking forward to reading more about the LaRue brothers as well as the Chiasson sister!

Here's the Blurb:

New York Times bestselling author Donna Grant ventures into New Orleans with her Chiasson spinoff, the first book in her scorching LaRue series complete with sizzling romance and the enchantment of the paranormal.

For years, Addison Moore worked herself ragged to achieve her goals. Close to earning her degree, the contents of a shocking letter rip her world to shreds. In an attempt to forget, she wanders into a bar, unknowingly changing her life forever. But when the exquisite Addison Moore walks into his life, he can’t help but be charmed. Despite the dangers surrounding them, Myles comes to one conclusion - against the odds they found each other, and now that they have, he will do whatever it takes to keep her safe.

Gentle Rogue by Johanna Lindsey

★★★★ 4.5 Stars

This is still one of my favourite books. James Malory is a great leading man and while Georgina is a bit naive sometimes (I guess she could be allowed her being an innocent and all) she is spunky and a good match for James. I love reading their conversations and found myself wanting to get back to story often -even though I know what's going to happen.

As this book was a reread for me I noticed this time around that there was a fair amount of recapping which seemed a bit tedious having just read the previous books. Also, as this is the third book in the series.. if you hadn't read the other two, those recaps would spoil those stories instead of just dropping hints that make you want to read them. So because of that I docked half a star.

This series has a wonderful bunch of characters. Jeremy and Georgina's are delightful and even now I look forward to rereading their stories. If you have never read this series, I would recommend that you do!

Here's the Blurb:

Heartsick and desperate to return home to America, Georgina Anderson boards the Maiden Anne disguised as a cabin boy, never dreaming she'll be forced into intimate servitude at the whim of the ship's irrepressible captain, James Mallory.

The black sheep of a proud and tempestuous family, the handsome ex-pirate once swore no woman alive could entice him into matrimony. But on the high seas his resolve will be weakened by an unrestrained passion and by the high-spirited beauty whose love of freedom and adventure rivals his own.

Tender Rebel by Johanna Lindsey

★★★★★ This book, which is the second in the Malory series, is one of my all time favourites. Anthony Malory is a great leading man. He's funny, charming, bold and a fantastic fighter (in more than one sense of the word) when needed. Rosylnn is a fiery tempered Scot. She's got courage, spunk and knows how to hold her own against a rake like Tony. Both characters are so stubborn, that at some points you just wanna shake 'em but I like how they work through it. I am happy that both can admit they're wrong.

This story also shows some more of the Malory family and actually has my favourite little book joiners that some authors do... when the secondary characters are drawn to each other and seem to be having a sub story going on behind the scenes of the current story... be forewarned. If you haven't read the first book in this series, there are quite a few spoilers in this one, about that story. I am off to re-read another favourite book of mine. The third Malory Series! Gentle Rogue.

Here's the Blurb:

Scottish heiress Roslynn Chadwick needs the safety of marriage to protect her from an unscrupulous cousin and from the army of fortune-hunting scoundrels who covet her wealth and beauty. And Anthony Malory is everything she has been warned against.

A ruthless, irresistibly handsome English rogue, Malory's sensual blue eyes speak of limitless pleasures. How she wishes she dare to love such a man... to believe the whispered murmurings of his passionate promise... and to follow the enchanting dream...

Love Only Once by Johanna Lindsey

★★★★ This is a re-read for me. I still enjoyed the story and I still loved characters. This is the first book in the Malory series and I love how she introduces the Malory family to you. This time around I did notice that the author jumps POV a lot! In my previous re-reads I hadn't noticed this, however by the end of the book I had gotten used to it.

Regina and Nicholas made me shake my head at times. So close to happiness, yet neither can see it. I really liked when Nicholas would set out to woo Regina. Kinda wish there was a bit more of that. I do like how the author puts so much into all the characters in the story. I really enjoy falling in love with secondary characters as well as the first.. I find them all so full of life that I want to read all of their stories as well. All in all a good first book for what I know is a great series. Up next is one of my all time Favourites!!! Anthony Malory!!!

Here's the Blurb:

The exquisite niece of Lord Edward and Lady Charlotte Malory, Regina Ashton is outraged over her abduction by the arrogant, devilishly handsome Nicholas Eden - and is determined to make the rogue pay with his heart. A golden-haired seducer, Nicholas has been hardened by a painful secret in his past. And now that he has besmirched Reggie's good name, the hot-tempered lady has vowed to wed him. Her fiery beauty stirs Nicholas as no woman ever has - and the rake arouses Reggie's passion to an unendurable level. Such uncontrolled desires can lead only to dangerous misunderstandings and, perhaps, to a love that can live only once in a lifetime.

One Good Earl Deserves a Lover by Sarah MacLean

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥  This book is the second in "The Rules of Scoundrels" series and worth far more than 5 stars!!!! It was magnificent! The longing/wanting/need was conveyed to perfection! Someone mentioned breathlessness and yes!! That too!!! I LOVED the character's honesty. Pippa was straightforward and honest throughout the book and I think it was one of the things that made me love every second of this story! Cross was the perfect match for her. He is going into my category of "great leading male" This book is now on my favourites shelf and, as I had originally bought this series for the next book... I am now unsure of how Ms. MacLean is going to top this!

Here'e the Blurb:

The second in the incredible new Rules of Scoundrels series from New York Times bestselling author Sarah MacLean.

Lady Philippa Marbury is odd. The bespectacled, brilliant fourth daughter of the Marquess of Needham and Dolby cares more for books than balls, flora than fashion and science than the season. Nearly engaged to Lord Castleton, Pippa wants to explore the scandalous parts of London she's never seen before marriage. And she knows just who to ask: the tall, charming, quick-witted bookkeeper of The Fallen Angel, London's most notorious and coveted gaming hell, known only as Cross.

Like any good scientist, Pippa's done her research and Cross's reputation makes him perfect for her scheme. She wants science without emotion—the experience of ruination without the repercussions of ruination. And who better to provide her with the experience than this legendary man? But when this odd, unexpected female propositions Cross, it's more than tempting . . . and it will take everything he has to resist following his instincts—and giving the lady precisely what she wants.

A Rogue By Any Other Name by Sarah MacLean

★★★★ First off.. I LOVED the letters between the hero/heroine at the beginning of the chapters. This book is the first in "The Rules of Scoundrels" series. Michael and Penelope were a good couple, and I was glad to read her story after what happened in the other one. (Eleven Scandals to start to win a duke's Heart). I did find that Michael seemed to take a bit too long for me to come around.. but their time and conversations together made up for that. I also love the secondary characters, Phillipa and Cross! Can't wait to read their stories.

Here's the Blurb:

What a scoundrel wants, a scoundrel gets...

A decade ago, the Marquess of Bourne was cast from society with nothing but his title. Now a partner in London’s most exclusive gaming hell, the cold, ruthless Bourne will do whatever it takes to regain his inheritance—including marrying perfect, proper Lady Penelope Marbury.

A broken engagement and years of disappointing courtships have left Penelope with little interest in a quiet, comfortable marriage, and a longing for something more. How lucky that her new husband has access to such unexplored pleasures.

Bourne may be a prince of London’s underworld, but he vows to keep Penelope untouched by its wickedness—a challenge indeed as the lady discovers her own desires, and her willingness to wager anything for them... even her heart.

The Next Best Thing by Kristan Higgins

★★★★★ Wow! This book was good. I totally enjoyed it. At first it was a bit hard for me to get into as it is written in first person, but after finishing the book.. I think that was the best way TO write this story. I am left with my mouth agape (figuratively speaking). Lucy and Ethan, I loved them from the beginning. At times I thought for sure Lucy was going to make some really bad choices and I was thinking NO! Why does she have to do this.. but Higgins surprised me and made it work out well! I think with this story Higgins has fully become one of my "Must Buy" authors.

Here's the Blurb:

Lucy Lang isn't looking for fireworks...

She's looking for a nice, decent man. Someone who'll mow the lawn, flip chicken on the barbeque, teach their future children to play soccer. But most important... someone who won't inspire the slightest stirring in her heart...or anywhere else. A young widow, Lucy can't risk that kind of loss again. But sharing her life with a cat named Fat Mikey and the Black Widows at the family bakery isn't enough either. So it's goodbye to Ethan, her hot but entirely inappropriate "friend with privileges" and hello to a man she can marry.

Too bad Ethan Mirabelli isn't going anywhere. As far as he's concerned, what she needs might be right under her nose. But can he convince her that the next best thing can really be forever?

Eleven Scandals to Start to Win a Duke's Heart by Sarah MacLean

★★★★ This is the third book in the "Love by Numbers" series. I found this book an enjoyable read. I liked Juliana and Simon. I liked him in the other two books in the series - well I enjoyed the idea of his character finding love and the story it could be, as he is a hard man with rigid rules. So you know that they are going to need to be broken. That said, sometimes through out this book, it bothered me when even while engaged, he would still entertain another. But that was not that big a deal. I look forward to her next series where some of these characters continue their stories.

Here's the Blurb:

She lives for passion.

Bold, impulsive, and a magnet for trouble, Juliana Fiori is no simpering English miss. She refuses to play by society’s rules: she speaks her mind, cares nothing for the approval of the ton, and can throw a punch with remarkable accuracy. Her scandalous nature makes her a favorite subject of London’s most practiced gossips…and precisely the kind of woman the Duke of Leighton wants far far away from him.

He swears by reputation.

Scandal is the last thing Simon Pearson has room for in his well-ordered world. The Duke of Disdain is too focused on keeping his title untainted and his secrets unknown. But when he discovers Juliana hiding in his carriage late one evening–risking everything he holds dear–he swears to teach the reckless beauty a lesson in propriety.

She has other plans, however; she wants two weeks to prove that even an unflappable duke is not above passion.

In Your Dreams by Kristan Higgins

★★★ 3.5 Stars

This book... well Jack and Emmaline, weren't characters I had longed to read about.. I did have trouble enjoying their relationship.. The way Jack kept going to help his ex, bothered me, the way Emmaline was towards her ex bothered me, and the way Emmaline was towards Jack's ex.. was kinda hypocritical of her.. Granted Higgins did fix all this and gave me a nice HEA.. I just wished she'd fixed all that bothered me a wee bit sooner... just my opinion (hence the loss of a star for that)

This story was full of emotions for me. I got all teary, and angry, and frustrated and happy.. it was all there, and in the right spots I am guessing.. so points to Higgins on that front. That doesn't happen often. I just wish I could have LOVED the characters more.. the choices they made just killed me sometimes. Still it was worth the read. This is the fourth book in the "Blue Heron" series and I look forward to more as I am still hoping Connor gets a story!

Here's the Blurb:

Emmaline Neal needs a date. Just a date—someone to help her get through her ex-fiancé's wedding without losing her mind. But pickings are slim in Manningsport, New York, population 715. In fact, there's really only one option: local heartthrob Jack Holland. Everyone loves Jack, and he won't get the wrong idea…. After all, Jack Holland would never actually be interested in a woman like Em. Especially not with his beautiful ex-wife creeping around, angling to reunite ever since he rescued a group of teens and became a local hero.

But when the wedding festivities take an unexpectedly passionate turn, Em figures it was just one crazy night. Jack is too gorgeous, too popular, to ever end up with her. So why is she the one he can talk to about his deep, dark feelings? If Em is going to get her dream man, she'll have to start by believing in him…

Waiting On You by Kristan Higgins

★★★★★ I hardly ever read the blurb of books that have been recommended to me, as I don't like having crazy expectations. Though once I started reading this book and realized its a "second chance" kinda book.. I started to have doubts. I am not a big fan of these, as most of the time you miss out on that "first love" feeling.. however Higgins maneuvered the story around that problem beautifully! I felt all that first love chemistry which is one of the main reasons I read romance. Colleen and Connor have been some of my favourite characters so I am happy that one of them has a story (hoping Connor's will be coming up soon!)

Colleen is a spunky, funny woman. I love her. She's so easy going and fun. Lucas is that quite presence that always seems to balance out that loud crazy one. I think they were a wonderful match for each other. Without trying to spoil anything for anyone who reads this. There was an incident later in the story that got me a bit angry with the author.. not sure she could come back from what she'd had happen to the characters..(for me, anyway) - and it still lingers a bit in my mind.. but she did make it work better than I expected. I am still learning how this author works.. Only my 3rd book by her, however I am beginning to see that she just might be one of those authors that I can say... she'll fix this, I can trust her.

Here's the Blurb:

Does being nobody's fool mean that you're nobody's love?

Colleen O'Rourke is in love with love... just not when it comes to herself. Most nights, she can be found behind the bar at the Manningsport, New York, tavern she owns with her twin brother, doling out romantic advice to the lovelorn, mixing martinis and staying more or less happily single. See, ten years ago, Lucas Campbell, her first love, broke her heart... an experience Colleen doesn't want to have again, thanks. Since then, she's been happy with a fling here and there, some elite-level flirting and playing matchmaker to her friends.

But a family emergency has brought Lucas back to town, handsome as ever and still the only man who's ever been able to crack her defenses. Seems like maybe they've got some unfinished business waiting for them—but to find out, Colleen has to let her guard down, or risk losing a second chance with the only man she's ever loved.

The Perfect Match by Kristan Higgins

★★★★★ I LOVED this book! It made me laugh a lot.. I'd forgotten how funny Higgins is! All the characters are so lovable. I love this little world of Blue Heron she's created. Kept me up until the wee hours in the morning! This is only the second book in the "Blue Heron" series. Can't wait to read the next book!

Here's the Blurb:

What if the perfect match is a perfect surprise?

Honor Holland has just been unceremoniously rejected by her lifelong crush. And now—a mere three weeks later—Mr. Perfect is engaged to her best friend. But resilient, reliable Honor is going to pick herself up, dust herself off and get back out there… or she would if dating in Manningsport, New York, population 715, wasn't easier said than done.

Charming, handsome British professor Tom Barlow just wants to do right by his unofficial stepson, Charlie, but his visa is about to expire. Now Tom must either get a green card or leave the States—and leave Charlie behind.

In a moment of impulsiveness, Honor agrees to help Tom with a marriage of convenience—and make her ex jealous in the process. But juggling a fiancé, hiding out from her former best friend and managing her job at the family vineyard isn't easy. And as sparks start to fly between Honor and Tom, they might discover that their pretend relationship is far too perfect to be anything but true love….

Twisted by Elisabeth Naughton

★★★★★ The Eternal Guardians is one of the best series I've read. This is book 7 in that series and Naughton doesn't disappoint! Action, intrigue, romance, humour, and great chemistry between the lead characters! Everything i could want! I love the fact that, while reading this book and questions arise.. I have no clue what is going to happen.. too often in books I can guess what is going to happen and it usually does even if sometimes with a twist. But Ms. Naughton just keeps me on the edge.. no hints. She delivers it perfectly. This book was worth the wait!!! This author is a must read for me!

Here's the Blurb:

Nick –Leader of the half-breeds and the last true hero. He’s spent his life fighting a dark pull toward the gods. A pull he now knows is linked to his father Krónos and the Titan’s plan to escape from the Underworld.

But Nick’s hidden powers are coveted by more than just his father. Imprisoned by Hades, Nick battles every form of torture imaginable as the sadistic god schemes to break him. Only one thing is keeping him sane. One woman who gives him the strength to fight the relentless darkness. She has a dangerous plan of her own, though, and as Nick’s powers grow stronger, even she might not be enough to alter his destiny.

As the fate of the world hangs in the balance, Nick’s allegiances are tested. And no one knows whether he will choose to fight for good or succumb to the sinister lure of evil. Not even him.

★★★★ This is the second book in the "Love by Numbers" series. I enjoyed this book, the characters Nicholas and Isabel were interesting and I felt they had good chemistry together. I wish I had got to read more about the secondary characters Lara and Rock. I look forward to the next in the series.

Here's The Blurb:

“Lord Nicholas is a paragon of manhood. And his eyes, Dear Reader! So blue!” Pearls & Pelisses, June 1823

Once In A Lifetime by Jill Shalvis

★★★★★ This book was just fantastic! ... Like I-neglected-my-kids-for-the-entire-morning-fantastic! I loved Ben! He was a surprise to me. From the other books I wouldn't have thought he'd become one of my favourite Lucky Harbour men! His caring nature was sweet, and yet he still kept his "Alpha" kinda qualities. I loved when the story would come from his point of view. Loved that he just wanted to spend time with Aubrey. And Aubrey was a good character match for Ben. She's strong, and the plot of her righting her wrongs was good. Though I always kinda wanted to re-live one of the scenes from the previous book from Ben and Aubrey's point of view.. I was immensely satisfied after reading this book. It didn't let me down! I think I will have to take a bit of a breather before reading another book.. cause my standards are so high right now! This is the ninth book in the "Lucky Harbor" series.

Here's the Blurb:

After a wrenching loss, Ben McDaniel tried to escape his grief by working in dangerous, war-torn places like Africa and the Middle East. Now he's back in his hometown and face-to-face with Aubrey Wellington, the hot-as-hell woman who is trouble with a capital T. Family and friends insist she's not the one to ease his pain, but Aubrey sparks an intense desire that gives Ben hope for the future.

Determined to right the wrongs of her past, Aubrey is working hard to make amends. But by far, the toughest challenge to her plan is sexy, brooding Ben - even though he has absolutely no idea what she's done . . .

Can this unlikely couple defy the odds and win over the little town of Lucky Harbor?

Dangerous Highlander by Donna Grant

★★★★ This book was pretty good. I am intrigued to read about the other warriors. I did have a bit of trouble with them changing into their gods.. why I am not sure.. I love her dragon kings and have no problem with those shapeshifters... perhaps that part will grow on me. I will check out the rest in the series for sure.

Here's the Blurb:

The bold and passionate Lucan MacLeod--one of three brothers cursed by dark magic for eternity--is driven by desire for the one woman he dare not let himself possess...

He is magnificently strong--and dangerously seductive. One of the fiercest of his clan, Lucan MacLeod is a legend among warriors, inspiring fear in man and woman alike. For three hundred years, he has locked himself away from the world, hiding the vengeful god imprisoned in his soul. But then, a young lass caught in a raging storm awakens his deepest impulses...and darkest desires.

Cara doesn't believe the rumors about the MacLeod castle--until the majestic Highland warrior appears like a fiery vision in the storm, pulling her into his powerful arms, and into his world of magic and Druids. An epic war between good and evil is brewing. And Lucan must battle his all-consuming attraction for Cara--or surrender to the flames of a reckless, impossible love that threatens to destroy them both...

Darkest Flame by Donna Grant

★★★★★  I thoroughly enjoyed this book! I missed the Dragon Kings soo much, since I read the 3 novellas before this!! Denae was a strong kick-ass woman and Kellan was a wonderfully aloof male (well he wished he could stay that way). He was protective but also showed he had confidence in Denae to handle herself.

I really want to read the next in the series, BUT I feel that I must read the Dark Sword/Warrior series first. I found out that this was a spin off from the warrior series, but didn't think it would matter too much. However during this book, I found too much was being given away and would potentially ruin/spoil some of the Warriors stories for me. I am one of those people who prefers to read books in order. So before I read the next in this book I will go read those!

Here's the Blurb:

The Dark Kings have fought for centuries to preserve their dragon magic. But one of the most powerful warriors of his kind will be put to the ultimate test. Is he strong enough to resist his greatest temptations? Or will he be forced to surrender - body and soul?

Her beauty is a weapon

Denae Lacroix is a beautiful MI5 agent on a deadly mission. Sent to the Scottish Highlands to spy on the mysterious Dreagan Industries, she discovers too late that she’s been set up - as human bait. She is an irresistible lure for a man who has not seen or touched a woman for centuries. He is a man with a destiny - and a desire - that could destroy them both...

His passion is a curse...

It’s been twelve hundred years since Kellan has walked among humans - and there’s no denying the erotically charged attraction he feels for Denae. But as a Dragon King, he is sworn to protect his secrets. Yet the closer he gets to this smart, ravishing woman, the more her life is in danger. All it takes is one reckless kiss to unleash a flood of desire, the fury of dragons…and the fiercest enemy of all.

An Encounter at Hyde Park by Claudia Dain, Deb Marlowe, Ava Stone and Karen Hawkins

4 Stories - 4 Reviews - Overall Book Rating ★★★★

Chasing Miss Montford by Claudia Dain:

I didn't get far into this book as it was too confusing with all the E names and I found it kinda convoluted. A lot of talking about what could happen and should happen and nothing actually happening. Haven't read this author before.. probably wouldn't try her again unless I found a really good recommendation.

★★★ 3.5 stars
A Waltz In Hyde Park by Deb Marlowe:

I Enjoyed it. Characters were fun. James and Addy were a good match. This was my first time reading this author. Might look up more of her stuff.

★★★★★ Promises Made by Ava Stone:

This story brought emotion with it. I felt the passion, I felt the chemistry, I was invested in these characters. This was the first time I have read this author. I will look for more of her books!

★★★★★ Charlotte's Bed by Karen Hawkins:

This Author was the reason I bought this book. I have enjoyed a lot of Hawkins' books. This one was no different! I thought it was intriguing that both characters were in there 40's. Not often do you find that in this genre. I remember reading about Charlotte before in another story, as she is a companion to The Duchess of Roxburghe (and all her many pugs).  I was happy to see that Angus came to terms with his wrongs and tried to right them. I am hoping that MacDermott gets a story!!

So all in all this was a good purchase. And I may have found some new great authors!!!

Here's the Blurb:

In Claudia' Dain's Chasing Miss Montford, Miss Elaine Montford is a debutante on the hunt for a titled husband. Then again, who isn't? In the London Season of 1804, every young woman with a mama who has spent the money to buy an appropriate wardrobe and find a house in Town to showcase her virginal, blushing daughter expects said daughter to do her duty to her family name by marrying a man with a title, and social connections, and a well-established estate. Elaine Montford, who is virginal and can blush nearly upon command, is not averse to this plan. It's only that she has yet to meet the man who meets her mama's qualifications. * Roger Ellery of the 10th Regiment of Light Dragoons is not that man. However, Roger Ellery is the man she meets. In Hyde Park. It is quite clear that he believes he is rescuing her, even if she is not in need of rescuing. Then again, perhaps she is....And it all started out so innocently, too.

In Deb Marlowe's A Waltz in the Park, James Vickers once believed honor and family duty to be his life's work. Now he knows better--and he's appointed himself as silent witness to his father's sins. His greatest goal is to act as the continuously pricking thorn in his lordship's side--and scandal is his greatest weapon. He has no use for an innocent young miss. * Propriety is Miss Adelaide Stockton's most important asset. She must be all that is prim and proper if she's to live down her parent's misdeeds and have any hope of catching a husband. She must avoid scoundrels like Vickers at all costs. Yet fate has thrown them together--and given each a key to the other's ambition. A bargain is struck...but together they find that gaining what one desires most is far more difficult than a waltz in the park.

In Ava Stone's Promises Made, Lady Elspeth MacLaren loves everything about London - the ballrooms, the entertainments, the handsome single lords in want of a wife. Unfortunately, she already has a betrothed...She just doesn't know it yet. * A decade ago, Captain Griffin Reid made a deal with the devil. In exchange for leaving Scotland and joining the Dragoon Guards, his family's land and legacy will be returned to him after he marries one-time neighbor Ellie MacLaren. Unfortunately, the lady in question has her heart set on marrying some English lord and living out her days somewhere south of the border. And before Griff knows what's happened, he finds himself trying to win the heart of the lady who always should have been his.

In Karen Hawkins' Charlotte's Bed - Uninterested in domestic bliss, Lady Charlotte treasures her freedom as a wealthy, unmarried lady living with her best friend, the spritely Duchess of Roxburghe, and assisting in that lady's energetic matchmaking endeavors. But now - shockingly - the duchess has turned her sharp ambitions on none other than Lady Charlotte herself. Charlotte's having none of it. She likes her life and her freedom, but when an old love from her past reappears, the mysterious and dark Angus Reeves, Lord MacThune, and attempts to woo her with an exciting, thrilling kiss, Charlotte begins to wonder if perhaps - just perhaps - 'domestic bliss' might mean something other than what she originally thought . . .
